Being a creative allows you to be free, equitable and is void of perfection persecution…I can make the rules and break them, all in the same breathe - that in itself is liberating!

My Grandma Viola was the first person to grant me the energy to be a creative. As a child, I spent summers with her and she would often solicit my help to pen addresses for her and her elderly friends. I was praised for my penmanship and my capacity to problem-solve at such a young age. She encouraged me to use my hands to tell a story and not to limit the use of them. Grandma Viola was the epitome of freedom and she displayed that in her style, her efforts to communicate, her manner of love and her life. She called me Mayah and always ensured that when I wrote it - I included the ‘H’ because that’s my name, Somayah…and she needed me to be who I am, intentionally unique.
My passion lies in being a creative - of all things! I possess the talent to make custom woods designs, acrylic signage, floral framework, embroidery art, t-shirts, cups and anything that you essentially could cook up! If it can be made, I’d like to think that I can make it.
Now that you have my why, let’s jump into the me! I am a facetious, dramatic, boisterous, opinionated lover of color, life, humanity and all things creative! I love my family, each and every one of them…no seriously, you could be my 5th cousin removed and I’d love you like a sister. I appreciate time and space. I love chicken nuggets and sour worms, not together obviously. In the most invaluable and loving time that I possess, I am a Mommy, a Wife, a Daughter, a Sister, a Niece, a Cousin, a Soror and a Friend. It gives me immense pleasure to share my talents with others and I pray that you’ll love whatever I create for you, just as much as I’ve loved creating it!
